GuangDong (广东) Musuem

This was a trip with Tim, Brian, Jasmine, and Galon to the new museum downtown. It has a lot of interesting historical displays, and natural history stuff too. The building is really new and fancy. Afterward we went out to an delicious lunch courtesy of Galon!

In retrospect, I should have gotten more people shots, and fewer museum shots.

Photos:

This is the outside of the museum building Looking out from the second floor entrance. That porch has grass and trees growing on it. Wood Carving: These are really cool in person, but I suspect the photos are not. So I’ll keep it brief. I guess people actually used to sleep on these ceramic pillows. This is a chinese dragon boat. The dragon boat festival is coming up, and there will be races.

Ancient chinese innovation includes inventing terraces, and this method of irrigating them. I guess this is how school should be. Only four students, and the teacher has a ruler! Reproduction of an ancient world map. Not too far off, except that it’s missing Australia. I’ll probably never understand the CCP’s policy on church’s in the mainland.
